BETO CARRERO (Brazil), 20 May 2012 – The Honda Grand Prix of Brazil started on Saturday in Beto Carrero with the MX1 and MX2 qualifying races and also with an important announcement regarding the future of motocross in Brazil. Youthstream Vice-president Mr. Luigi Zompetti, FIM Deputy President Mr. Jorge Viegas, Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos President Mr. Carlos Romagnolli, Mr. Leandro Romagnolli and Mr. Lincoln Duarte as key representatives of Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos and CBM President Mr. Firmo Alves explained that Brazil has a bright future ahead in motocross, starting already from this weekend with the outstanding and professional organization and the unique structure of the Honda Grand Prix of Brazil.

The FIM Motocross World Championship has visited Brazil for four years in row and at the moment the partnership between Youthstream and Romagnolli is stronger than ever. Today both parties have signed a four years contract to bring the FIM MX3 World Championship in Brazil, staring from 2013 in Recife, north east of Brazil. Besides, there are other ambitious negotiations on the table such as bringing the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship in Brazil, organizing a second round of the MX1 and MX1 World Championships in Brazil and organizing the so prestigious FIM Motocross of Nations in 2015 also in Brazil.

Mr. Luigi Zompetti, Youthstream Vice-President, explained: “Beto Carrero is one of the best motocross venues I have ever seen in my life and I have to admit that Mr. Carlos Romagnolli has made an outstanding job, very professional and taking care of all the small details. Youthstream is very happy to have such strong partnership with Romagnolli and CBM, and of course with the FIM, and I am sure that this is just the first step of a bright future in Brazil.”

Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos President Mr. Carlos Romagnolli added: “What we can see today in Beto Carrero is the result of twenty years working in motocross and I’m very happy that after last year’s Grand Prix in Indaiatuba we could set a strong partnership with Youthstream. This new contract that we are signing today is a clear sign of how strong the partnership with Youthstream is and at the moment we are working on the dream of hosting the 2015 Motocross of Nations here in Brazil, as well as the WMX. I really hope to be able to cooperate with CBM to develop the sport in Brazil and create a strong partnership with them like the one FIM has with Youthstream.”

CBM President Firmo Alves continued by saying: “Brazil is a successful country in many sports and it is now time to open a new window for motocross. I would like to congratulate Mr. Romagnolli for making such a good job and also thank Youthstream and the FIM to believe in Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos to bring the FIM Motocross World Championship in Brazil.”

FIM Deputy President Mr. Jorge Viegas concluded by saying: “Today all of us we have seen the best format and environment to host a motocross race. Obviously Brazil has a huge potential and Europe is not the centre of the world anymore, and in the FIM we have defined very clearly that motorcycling has to go outside the old Europe and go where the markets are growing. With motocross we will go from here to Asia next year and this is the perfect way of how we want to develop motorcycling. Motocross is in the correct track and we are very happy with the relationship between the Federations that rule the sport like FIM or CBM with the promoters like Youthstream or Romagnolli Promoções e Eventos.”
